What is wagering?
Wagering (or wagering requirements) is the total amount you must bet before you can withdraw winnings linked to a bonus. It is often expressed as a multiplier: x20, x30, x40.
Example: a €100 bonus with x30 wagering means you must wager €3,000 in total (100 × 30), subject to the casino's rules.
Basic formula
Amount to wager = Amount relevant × Multiplier
The amount the multiplier applies to may be the bonus only, or the deposit + bonus. This is the most important distinction to check.
Examples numerical
Example A — Wagering on the bonus only
Deposit 50 €, bonus 100 €, wagering x35 on the bonus only.
To wager: 100 × 35 = 3 500 €.
Example B — Wagering on deposit + bonus
Deposit 50 €, bonus 100 €, wagering x35 on deposit + bonus.
Base amount: €150 → amount to wager: 150 × 35 = 5 250 €.
The same displayed multiplier can represent a very different real wagering effort. Always check whether the rule says “bonus only” or “deposit + bonus”.
Types of wagering
- Bonus only — more favorable to the player.
- Deposit + bonus — more demanding.
- Sticky / no-sticky — the bonus may block withdrawal of the deposit until it has been converted.
Game contribution
Slots often contribute 100%, while roulette/blackjack may contribute 10–20% or 0%. x30 wagering on slots only does not require the same effort as x30 on live casino games.
Maximum bet and expiry
Many offers impose a max bet (e.g. €5) while wagering. Exceeding it may void winnings. Also check the validity period (7, 14 or 30 days).
Common mistakes
- Confusing x30 bonus-only with x30 deposit+bonus.
- Playing 0%-contribution games while expecting them to progress wagering.
- Exceeding the maximum allowed bet.
- Forgetting the bonus expiry date.
