Self-exclusion: definition and example

Voluntary closure of your account for a chosen period, from a few months to several years, so that you can no longer play.

Definition

Self-exclusion blocks access to the account and to deposits for the whole period chosen, with no going back. It applies to the casino concerned; some countries offer registers that cover all licensed operators.

Example

A break of a few days helps you step back; a self-exclusion of a year or more helps you stop.

What to check

Also consider software that blocks gambling sites and the helplines in your country.
