Wagering requirement: definition and example
How many times a sum must be bet before bonus winnings can be withdrawn: x35 on the bonus, x30 on deposit + bonus…
Definition
Wagering, or the wagering requirement, is the main condition of a casino bonus. It is expressed as a multiplier (x30, x35, x40…) applied to a basis: the bonus alone, the deposit alone, or the deposit plus the bonus. Until it is met, winnings from the bonus cannot be withdrawn.
Example
With a €100 bonus and wagering of x35 on the bonus, you have to bet €3,500 before you can withdraw. If the same x35 applies to the deposit plus the bonus (€200), you have to bet €7,000, twice as much.
What to check
Always look at the wagering basis, the game contribution, the maximum bet allowed and the validity period: these decide whether the offer is playable.
In our comparison
Converted to the bonus amount, the wagering requirement ranges from x30 to x70 across the offers in our comparison (11 comparable offers).
