Welcome bonus: definition and example
Offer for new sign-ups, most often a percentage of the first deposit, with or without free spins, and subject to wagering.
Definition
The welcome bonus rewards signing up and making a first deposit, sometimes the following ones too. The most common form is a percentage of the deposit, often with free spins. The bonus is credited to a separate balance and is subject to conditions before any withdrawal.
Example
A 100% bonus up to €500 doubles a €200 deposit (€200 of bonus); for an €800 deposit, the bonus stays capped at €500.
What to check
Compare the wagering and its basis, the minimum deposit that unlocks the offer, the maximum bet and the maximum cashout rather than the headline amount.
