Destination tag or memo: definition and example
Extra code required for some cryptocurrencies (XRP, Stellar…) so the right account is credited when the address is shared.
Definition
For some cryptocurrencies, the casino uses a single address for all its customers; the tag (XRP) or the memo (Stellar) identifies your account. Without it, the deposit reaches the casino but cannot be assigned to you automatically.
Example
An XRP deposit sent without the destination tag indicated has to be claimed from customer support, with proof of the transaction.
What to check
Always copy the tag or memo shown in the cashier, as well as the address.
