Blockchain network: definition and example

Chain on which a cryptocurrency circulates (Ethereum, TRON, BNB Chain…); sending on the wrong network can lose the funds.

Definition

The same cryptocurrency, especially a stablecoin, can exist on several networks. The deposit address provided by the casino is valid for one specific network only. Fees and confirmation speed depend on the network chosen.

Example

USDT sent on the TRON network to an address meant for Ethereum may never be credited.

What to check

Copy the address and check the network in the casino’s cashier before every deposit.

  • Stablecoin

    Cryptocurrency designed to track the value of a conventional currency, most often the US dollar (such as USDT and USDC).

  • Destination tag or memo

    Extra code required for some cryptocurrencies (XRP, Stellar…) so the right account is credited when the address is shared.
