Provably fair: definition and example
System that lets you check for yourself, using cryptographic hashes, that a result was not altered after the bet was placed.
Definition
A “provably fair” game, meaning one whose fairness can be verified, publishes the hash of a secret seed before the round; that seed is then combined with a seed from the player. After the round, the seed is revealed: anyone can recalculate the result. The system proves that the draw was not altered, not that the game has no house edge.
Example
In a provably fair crash game, you can recalculate the crash point of a past round from the published seeds.
What to check
The RTP remains below 100%: a provably fair game is not a winning game.
